Free to join. Set your own rates. Connect with Farsi-speaking families near you.
Listing on CareJan is free, and it stays free. No commission on work you find, no cut of your hourly rate, and no paid tier that moves your name up a page.
You stay independent, and that is not just a legal formality. You name your rate. You decide which families to answer and which jobs to turn down. Hours, duties, and pay are settled between you and the family. CareJan does not employ you, train you, supervise you, or send you anywhere, and it has no say in what you charge.
Building a profile takes a few minutes: name, city, the languages you speak, a short introduction, and your private-pay rate. Spend the time on the introduction. It is the part families read twice, and caregivers who write a few honest sentences about themselves and the households they work well with hear back far more often than the ones who write "hardworking and reliable".
If you are already an IHSS provider, say so. A lot of the families arriving here are looking for exactly that, and the match costs neither of you anything.
No. Not to list, not when a family contacts you, not when you get the work.
No. Answer the ones you want to. Turning down a job you cannot cover, or a household you do not click with, is normal and costs you nothing here.
It depends what you do. Companionship and help around the house, meaning cooking, errands, laundry, keeping someone company, generally does not need a state credential. Hands-on personal care does, and California registers Home Care Aides through the Home Care Services Bureau. The two guides below walk through registering as a home care aide and enrolling as an IHSS provider with your county. They are separate processes and people mix them up constantly.
Then people here are looking for you. Families on IHSS come to CareJan specifically to find a provider who speaks Farsi, and the match is free for you and for them.
Your first name and last initial, your city, your languages, the introduction you wrote, your years of experience, an IHSS badge if it applies, and your private-pay rate if you set one. Your phone number and email stay private until you answer someone yourself.
